"Every life tells a story worth honoring. I created LifeStory to help families preserve memories with beauty and meaning—and to support the professionals who guide them through the most tender moments with care, creativity, and heart."

Where Legacy Lives

At LifeStory, we believe that every life deserves to be seen, remembered, and celebrated.

What began as a way to honor loved ones through memorial videos has grown into something more:
a storytelling movement that helps families and professionals capture the essence of a person’s life—whether they’re still with us or have already passed on.

LifeStory was born when our founder, Aaron Joseph Katz, lost his grandmother and went searching for a way to create a meaningful tribute. When he couldn’t find anything that truly honored her story, he made the video himself—and went on to create two more for other family members. Each experience brought unexpected healing and connection. It helped him see the power of storytelling not just in grief, but in legacy.

That experience became the foundation for LifeStory Memorials—cinematic tribute videos designed to help families honor loved ones with beauty, care, and heart.

Soon after, Aaron began creating living tributes for elders in his family and community—capturing their voices, wisdom, and milestones while they were still here. That spark grew into My~LifeStory, a way to celebrate life in progress and preserve stories before they’re lost.

What began as a personal tribute project has now grown into a mission—The Memory Mission—to help others preserve what matters most, while there’s still time to share it.

We now create meaningful, cinematic video tributes that preserve memories with clarity, beauty, and emotion. Whether you're a family planning a tribute, a doula offering legacy support, a retirement community celebrating a resident’s journey, or a funeral professional honoring a life well-lived—LifeStory makes it easy to tell the stories that matter most.

Here’s how we help bring these stories to life—beautifully, simply, and with heart, through our two signature offerings:

Our Story: About LifeStory— and the mission behind the memories.

Told in third person. Created with love after loss.

These tribute videos are carefully crafted using family photos, brief captions, and favorite memories to reflect a loved one’s journey and spirit. Often created with the help of family members, they honor a life well lived and offer comfort to those grieving.

🎞 Examples include our three tiers — from simple and elegant to fully customized.

Told in first person. A legacy while they’re still here.

These living legacy videos are created in collaboration with the individual — capturing their reflections, memories, and messages in their own words. Ideal for retirement communities, senior centers, or end-of-life planning, these videos celebrate life and give the gift of story while it can still be shared.

🎞 Each video is around 3 minutes, crafted from ~35 photos and brief narrative highlights.

Who We Serve:

  • We partner with end-of-life doulas and caregiving professionals who guide clients through reflection, meaning, and legacy.

LifeStory supports this work through a Legacy Prep Support model, where doulas gently help clients gather photos, reflect on life phases, and prepare their story — without technical stress.

We provide co-branded tools, thoughtful guidance, and full creative production, allowing doulas to stay present with clients while LifeStory handles the rest.

This partnership is designed to feel natural, supportive, and aligned with the sacred work doulas already do.

  • Through our on-site Legacy Lounge program, we capture the wisdom, humor, and heart of residents in beautiful video tributes.

The experience is uplifting and celebratory — engaging residents, strengthening family connection, and honoring lives well lived within the community.

  • Whether you're navigating grief or planning a celebration of life, we’re here to make the process simple and meaningful. From beautiful LifeStory Memorial tribute videos to living legacy tributes, our services help preserve your loved one’s story in a heartfelt, cinematic way.

My~LifeStory is a powerful way to honor someone during their lifetime—perfect for milestone birthdays, retirement celebrations, or legacy reflections. These videos are co-created with your loved one, capturing their voice, wisdom, and story to share with future generations.
